Summary

Live Stream gone wrong ๐Ÿ˜ฑ Nothing to see here

Overview

In this candid livestream, John Daub apologizes to his audience for a technical failure that prevented him from starting a scheduled broadcast. After his phone froze and Apple Store lines proved too long, John returns home to explain the situation, turning the mishap into an informal Q&A session. He discusses the frustrations of Japan's slow vaccine rollout, the high cost of Tokyo housing, and shares personal updates about his son Leo and wife Kanae.

The stream evolves into a casual tour of his apartment, where John showcases unique Japanese food items found in his fridge, including Fukushima peach juice, citrus-flavored eggs, and seasonal Kit Kats. He also explains practical features of Japanese apartment living, such as balcony emergency escape hatches. Throughout the broadcast, John answers viewer questions about potential relocation spots within Japan, his past marathon running, and his thoughts on vaccine tourism to Guam.

This video offers a raw, unedited glimpse into the daily life of a long-term expat in Tokyo during the pandemic. It highlights the bureaucratic challenges of living in Japan, the unique convenience store culture, and John's humorous perspective on technology failures and family life.

Japan Travel Tips

  • Vaccine Rollout: As of May 2021, the rollout was slow, prioritizing the elderly who often struggled with mail-in appointments. Younger foreigners were not expected to receive shots until the following year.
  • Convenience Store Payments: You can pay gas and electric bills at convenience stores like Seven-Eleven by having the barcode scanned.
  • Apartment Safety: Japanese apartment balconies often have metal escape hatches in the floor to access the neighbor's balcony below in case of fire or earthquake.
  • Food Tubes: Many condiments, including curry pickles and onions, are available in squeeze tubes for convenience.
  • Seasonal Snacks: Look for limited edition Kit Kat flavors like Sakura (Cherry Blossom) or Maple during specific seasons.

Japanese Language & Culture Notes

  • Hoikuen (ไฟ่‚ฒๅœ’): Nursery school or daycare. John notes there is a waiting list despite the shrinking population due to teacher shortages.
  • Vaccine Bureaucracy: Notices were sent by mail, which posed challenges for the elderly who might not check mail regularly or use the internet.
  • Balcony Hatches: A standard safety feature in Japanese apartments allowing vertical evacuation during emergencies.
  • Net Worth Rumors: John addresses internet rumors valuing him at $14 million, highlighting the unreliability of online data.
  • Ogasawara Islands: A remote island group belonging to Tokyo, accessible by a 24-hour ferry. Known for its unique history and limited foreign visitors.

Food & Drink Guide

  • Fukushima Peach Juice: 100% peach juice from Fukushima. John shows it but notes it was intended for Kanae. 00:09:34
  • Togarashi (Shichimi Pepper): John carries this in his pocket and puts it on everything, including sushi. 00:29:25
  • Yuzu Tamago: Eggs from chickens fed citrus fruit, resulting in a citrus-flavored egg. 00:29:25
  • Sakura Kit Kat: Cherry blossom flavored chocolate. John describes it as salty, floral, and creamy. 00:32:26
  • Maple Kit Kat: Another seasonal flavor John mentions as super good. 00:32:26
  • Seaweed Ice Cream: Shown in the fridge but not eaten. 00:29:25
  • Nikujaga: Japanese meat and potato stew. John admits to adding chili peppers to it, much to Kanae's dismay. 00:27:11

People

  • John Daub: Host and creator of Only in Japan Go. He spends the stream apologizing for tech issues and answering viewer questions.
  • Leo Daub: John's son (2-3 months old). John mentions his weight (5kg) and playing "Superman" with him.
  • Kanae Daub: John's wife. Mentioned as the intended recipient of the peach juice and the cook of nikujaga.
  • Arthel: From D-Art Stagio, the animation company behind the Only in Japan opening. John had lunch with him.
  • Peter Barakan: A fellow foreign media personality in Japan. John discusses potentially interviewing him and notes his popularity in Ogasawara.
  • Prime Minister Suga: Mentioned in the context of vaccine rollout suggestions.

Key Takeaways

  • Tech Reliability: Even experienced streamers face technical issues; having a backup phone or plan is advisable.
  • Housing Costs: Tokyo apartment rents can be double the price of houses in other regions, prompting consideration of relocation.
  • Vaccine Challenges: Japan's vaccine rollout faced hurdles due to reliance on mail notifications and elderly access issues.
  • Food Innovation: Japanese convenience stores and producers offer unique items like citrus eggs and tube condiments.
  • Community: Viewers are supportive even when streams fail, often worrying about the creator's safety during gaps in communication.

00:00:00 John Daub: So, I scheduled a live stream, but before I could start, the screen had locked up. I couldn't access it, and it's been a long time before I could get on here to explain what was going on. I had to go to the Apple store to try to reset the phone, but the line was too long, or they had a system where I couldn't just go in there and do it. So, I had to come home, recharge the battery, and yeah, now I can go live. And I apologize to the hundreds of people that were waiting, but yeah, sorry. Hey, sorry. I know there's a lot of people that were waiting in here, and I got messages. I couldn't even check the phone. It was just frozen. And when I got back, I saw the messages. I first searched Patreon, and I saw, hey, are you okay? I think people thought there was some sort of earthquake, maybe, or I was swallowed up by the earth, or there was lots of different reasons.

01:04:00 John Daub: I do apologize so much for those that were waiting for hours. Please don't wait hours. I'm so sorry for those that might have. I'm home now. Kaiju attack was another thing that was possible that could have happened to me. Godzilla. There's loads of possibilities. And if, hey, hey, Wendy, and if I don't communicate with you, you won't know what's happening. But this is a reason why I should have two smartphones, and I don't now. I used to have two smartphones. I had one that was on Docomo and one that was on SoftBank, but I 86ed or cut out the SoftBank one, and now I only have the Docomo one. But it might be a good idea to have it. I have a backup phone now, just in case this kind of situation happens, because nothing's worse than leaving hundreds of people stranded. It happened once before when I was at Mount Fuji, and I had to bungee jump. I was going to livestream the bungee jump, but there was no signal, and they had no Wi-Fi, which is weird. And that really was not good.

02:02:00 John Daub: Sheena, don't mess with Nightbot. Nightbot will time you out all night, all day long, okay? Just saying, don't play with Nightbot. I just saw that happening. I am in Da House, which is my house, right now. And it's nice that I can reset the phone and charge it up. I have only 30% battery now, but it was the best that I could do. I'm so sorry. Again, like, for those that are now watching, hundreds of people were left stranded as I struggled to get into a livestream locked out on my phone. It happens rarely, almost never. So, sorry. Hello, Nosh Abroad. I do apologize. It's very hard. I'm home now. Everything's good.

02:49:00 John Daub: The thing is, after I set up the livestream, I had to have lunch. This is actually kind of interesting. So, I had lunch with Arthel from D-Art Stagio, who is the animation company behind the Only in Japan animated opening. And we talked about everything except for work, which is so cool. We talked about babies and kids. And he has a son that's one year, seven months. And I have a son that's two months. We talked about schools. He said that I should enroll in a preschool or hoikuen (nursery school), like, right away. Maybe he was just bored. I had to enroll in a school in Tokyo. And you know what? It's funny, though, because you'd think Japan's got to... This is weird, right? Tell me if you agree or not.

03:36:00 John Daub: But Japan has a shrinking population, right? Everyone is... Like, the majority of the people here are over the age of 70. It seems. So you'd think it'd be pretty easy to get into a preschool or kindergarten or something, right? No. Apparently, because there's a low population, there's also not a lot of teachers. So there's a shortage with that. And therefore, there's a waiting list for kids to get into daycare and all sorts of different types of schools. It's crazy here in Tokyo. Another reason for me to leave. That's right. I have been thinking about it seriously. In fact, my friend Ruth just told me that there might be a house near where she lives that I could move into. A house. And it's half the price of this apartment, which is not that big. Look, the internet might say I'm worth $14 million. Trust me. I have never seen any of that money. I need to save as much as I can. And this apartment is double the price of a house where she lives. So this is crazy. Tokyo.

04:52:00 John Daub: Anyway, this is the internet told me that, okay? It said... And get this, all right? It said that there was another YouTuber of a similar level to me that you all know. His value was $500,000. And mine was $14 million. I don't know where they come up with these numbers. But I would think it would be the other way around, if anything. And being... If I'm valued more than a dollar, I'm pretty impressed. So the internet is full of broken promises. Like my live stream before this. Sorry. Really. Peter is valued at like... He's like probably a lot richer than we all think he isn't. It's true. Maybe. Let's see. Scott Lee, what happened? My phone was frozen. I came home. And I'm actually right now in... You can see we still got like baby stuff here from the auction. I'm doing right now the daimyo pack. I'm not supposed to show you what's inside. Sorry. It's for the daimyo. It's not even top secret. So I'm sending that out really quickly before the post office closes. But because of the live stream, I'm probably not going to be able to do that.

06:11:00 John Daub: But it stinks. You know, the Apple store has some sort of weird policy. Now everything has to be done online and things like this. Frozen phone. And you know what? It's a really warm day. I don't understand how the phone would freeze. If anything, it should overheat. Right? Which would be worse. It's just weird stuff. I guess this isn't the live stream that I had planned. I was going to take you around Yurakucho. It was a beautiful afternoon. Yurakucho has a square in the center. And some of the businesses have gone out of business in that area, which was really... Well, that's really kind. Look at that. Rynic LD. Thank you. Welcome back, John. When do you think you and your family can receive your vaccine jabs at earliest? Because I hear Japan is very slow in vaccinations compared to other rich countries. Yeah. I don't think... Personally, I don't expect to get jabbed until next year. I would do it today if I could. Probably. But I don't even have that choice. And in fact, the rollout is so bad.

07:23:00 John Daub: Look, this is why you don't start with the elderly. And you should start with the elderly. But you shouldn't... That shouldn't be your rollout plan. You should start with everybody, okay? Everybody 21 and older, whatever. Just go and get your shot. That's what they should do. The elderly can't use the internet. A lot of them can't even use the telephone. The reason why the rollout is slow is they send out the notices by mail. And a lot of the elderly don't even read their mail, apparently. Because they're not going in to get the shots. It's weird. So it's taking forever. In fact, you know, the centers are so far away. Even if the elderly... Some of them start to walk towards... It's just really slow. Go with people that can go quickly and get the jab over with. I think the highest risk people right now are younger people for me. I think that's my warped thinking. I'm probably wrong. It's all right.

08:16:00 John Daub: Yeah. They do it by mail. You had to... The first time they had stimulus package checks here, they sent it to you by mail where you had to fill in forms and send it back. You know, it was such a complicated process. And it created havoc at all the city hall, city offices because it's so much paperwork to do. And it took forever to get stimulus money. I think it was like six weeks. It was crazy. Right? By that time, you know, all the people that were waiting for it for rent and stuff, what are they supposed to do? Japan is like... I'm not complaining about it. I'm just saying it because Japan is just slower than... Everybody thinks that Japan is a very high-tech place. A place where... Like, you know, fast internet and all this other stuff. Bullet trains. Lilac peach, thank you. I'm actually thirsty for some peach juice. Actually, you know, at a tribute of lilac peach and that wonderful kindness of Super Chat, I'm going to go into my apartment and get some peach juice. Peach juice.

09:34:00 John Daub: All right? Don't look at the... Just look at the ceiling. I'm not going to show you the mess here. All right? Keep looking at the ceiling. Look at my... That hat for a second. All right? Now look at the ceiling. Look at the ceiling. It's a mess here. Don't look down. Don't look down. It's privacy. You haven't done the laundry. Just look at... Look here. Look here. Look here. Look here. All right? Look at me. All right? I went in here to get this for Lilac Peach to say thank you for her chat here. This is Fukushima peach juice. Straight 100% peach juice. It's nice. I don't think I'm going to drink it. I just wanted to show you. This is supposed to be for Kanae. She didn't drink it. I don't know why. She should have. Rio is visiting with Kanae's family right now, so he's not here in the house. I'm supposed to be using this time to edit the next Only in Japan video and get back to work, but it's going to be hard because a live stream went busted.

10:42:00 John Daub: What is a metal plate? All right, so, Japan has a lot of fireworks, earthquakes. So if an earthquake happens and the elevator is out or somehow there's a fire in the apartments, the balconies, I believe every single balcony has an escape hatch. So there's on the bottom this, you can open up this metal hatch and go down into your neighbors balcony. And then there's another one in your neighbors balcony below you that you can will take you eventually down there. There's no fire escape. But these hatches are very useful in case of an emergency situation, fire or earthquake or something like this. You can still get out and get down to the street level. That's what that is for. There's a lot of little cool features, which also means you could probably go onto your neighbor's balcony and do some bad stuff, but the police will suspect you first. All right? So don't do it. Look, and just because the Internet, everybody does what they hear on the Internet, don't try to do it. But robbery, who wrote that? Nick H., don't rob anybody. Just because I showed you this, does not carte blanche to go down into your neighbor's balcony. And probably the door is locked anyways.

11:51:00 John Daub: You're going to need a really industrial metal credit card in order to jimmy that up. I don't think you could even jimmy the balcony doors. I should probably try. You need like an Apple card. You know the Apple credit cards? I think they're made of metal. That way it doesn't break. I might have tried that a couple of times. You know the 100 yen store, Daiso, they sell metallic cards that are very metal. That would be great for robbery. But don't do it. All right? Robbery more like burglary. All right, look, are you a police officer? Kchung209, do you even know what's the police signal call for robbery and burglary? Huh? Is it a 109 or 649 in progress? You tell me that, Mr. Know-it-all. All right. Heavy duty card. Check. Yeah. Pour water down onto my neighbor's balcony? Are all of you people so that mean? Come on. Be nice to your neighbors. All right? I'm reading the chat. It's an 8675309 in progress. Look, that's so long. All right? They have to remember that? Is that, Manosh, that's probably both in progress. There's a robbery and a burglary. We don't know which one yet until we investigate.

13:23:00 John Daub: So, yeah, I just, this live stream is a 13-minute apology. And I'm showing you peach juice. That's it. That's what this is all about. And what are you doing up so late? You should be in bed. Guam is opening for American expats in Asia to get vaccinated. Will you travel to Guam to get vaccinated? Alan, I would 100% travel to Guam to get vaccinated right now. If that's, look, Guam is awesome. I've never been to Guam. Guam is awesome. Guam is deserving of a visit and a stay. And if Guam had Trader Joe's, I would go like once a month. All right. But they don't. If they had like, if Guam had all the stuff that the continent had, I would go all the time. But if Guam has the vaccines, I would go there for that. And that's a reason for Leo Rio to get his. Well, he can't get a vaccine. Wouldn't that be cool? Vaccine run to Guam. But wait. Don't I have to do a like a 14 day quarantine in Guam then? I wouldn't complain about that.

14:30:00 John Daub: Hey, Shandi from Hong Kong. How you doing? Vaccine tourism. Exactly. Can I couldn't get it? So I would I would be safe. But can I would not. Yeah. Maybe mothers are mothers of babies can can will be prioritized. I'm at home now. I rushed home slowly after I could not get because I had to have lunch. With our cell vaccine run to Guam would be great live stream. Robert, that would be like an eight hour live stream. I would try to use the airplanes Wi-Fi to continue the live stream directly to the vaccination center and catch the night flight out and be back in bed. That would be pretty cool. That should be a thing. You know what? All right. If you're at Yokosuka, please tell me that I can come and get a shot at Yokosuka. All right. If you're in the Navy. I would. And you're at Yokosuka on the base near Yokohama. Please invite me to get a vaccine. I'll be your best friend. Seriously. I'll bring you a gift or something. I'll bring you peach juice base. Any base will do. I'll travel to Iwakuni if that's what it requires.

16:11:00 John Daub: Look, you know what, Carlos? I can't even get into the embassy. The place is a compound. Even American citizens. It's hard getting in. You have to go through a security gate, which is like, like a shelter in itself. It's scary going to the American embassy. I didn't commit any crimes, but I don't know why. I'm just scared to go there. I don't think I committed any crimes. You know? You don't know if you committed a crime until you get there and they tell you, I guess. And if you didn't, if you did, then it's too late to run. So if you're going to commit a crime, make sure you know that you did it. All right? So then you can get out of it or run away from it. And then bounty hunters come after you. Maybel Castro. Do you think Japan will open its borders by December? I think it will be open to some people and close to some people. I think depending on the situation. And if the vaccines are going. A lot of it just depends on the vaccine right now. Never mind the Olympics. It just has to do with the vaccine. If anything, the Olympics is a liability to opening up. All right.

17:22:00 John Daub: Why no vacs for Tokyo residents? Because they said it's going to take two months to vaccinate the elderly. But it looks like it's going to take more because it's very hard to get them to go and to get the shots. Because they can't. The elderly can't use the internet. And the elderly can't. They can't get through on the telephones to make their appointments. And the elderly. They sent them by mail. But I guess the elderly didn't get some of it. I don't know. It's hard to know why. But a lot of the elderly are not getting the shots. And until the elderly gets the shots, they won't allow other people to get the shots. And what they should do is what Fukuoka did. I think just open up a 24-hour vaccination center. And just vaccinate the heck out of people. It doesn't even matter. Why do they do it by age? Just everybody. If you come, you get it. And there's not enough staff here to do the vaccines either. I don't want to talk about the pandemic actually. There's not enough staff to do the vaccines either. There's not enough nurses or qualified people to give a jab. It's not so much the injection itself but the storage of it and the responsibility. Making sure that you keep it at a certain temperature and stuff. But they allow dentists to be there. And they allow the doctors to be able to give the vaccines. Which opened up a lot of other people. I know a lot of people haven't been going to the dentist every six months for their cleanings. So the dentists apparently have more free time to give jabs.

19:50:00 John Daub: Prime Minister Suga, if you're watching, if your staffers are watching, if you're a staffer of Prime Minister Suga, please listen carefully. If you can give the vaccines to every convenience store to vaccinate people and let the staff vaccinate people, then this will be over. If you can invent robots that you can just put those little veils in there and it's stored and it will automatically give vaccines. That would be the ideal situation. Robots could do this. Come on. And when you leave, it scans your face and gives you a card saying that you've been vaccinated. Why can't we have these 24 hour centers even at subway stations? Just get robots to do it. Put the vaccines in the super cool refrigerators automatically. You know, goes in there. Take the humans out of the equation. I would get a jab from a robot or vet or convenience stores. All right. You got two options. Japan is the land of robots. Let the robots do it or do it at the convenience stores. Train the convenience store workers to give injections. All right. Yeah, I don't care. Make add up the price by 30 percent or whatever. Convenience stores. They do everything. If convenience stores did vaccines. Come on. Makes sense to me.

21:18:00 John Daub: I paid my gas and electric bill at the convenience store yesterday. It's pretty cool. They scan it. You pay them. Why can't they do vaccines? They have the refrigerations for the ice cream. Right. Seven eleven vaccine. Where'd you get your vaccine? Seven eleven. Does that make sense to you? It made that make sense to me. Complete and utter sense. You cannot put the vaccine in the water supply. I was told. Yeah. Got it. Couldn't with the vaccine. You get get a free ice cream. If you get vaccinated, that would get people vaccinated quickly here. All right. I would do it for I would do it for a coffee, which costs them like nothing. Right. Lilac Peach writes in your CVS. Does it? Absolutely. Nicholas Lazak writes in here. You could you score an interview with Peter Barakan? I've got a lot of friends. I've never met Peter Barakan in person. I'm pretty sure we know of each other. We have a lot of friends in common. So that's a possibility. I would be interested. I would be very, very. I would be fascinated to hear Peter Barakan share some of his stories about traveling around Japan. Some of the interesting stories that he has. I'm sure he's got a ton of them. I've got a lot of them, too, that we could swap back and forth. But it'd be pretty interesting meeting.

22:40:00 John Daub: I remember when I went to Ogasawara to film the video. That's an island in Tokyo, about 24 hours away by ferry. I went to Ogasawara. Everybody said that the last the last foreigner to come there to do a show was Peter Barakan. So I was following in his footsteps. And everybody had everybody had a nice had nice things to say about Peter. Most people. He was a nice guy. I would love to meet him. He's he has he was very beloved on the on the island. And when he produced the way it made the show there, they interviewed. Interestingly enough, a woman who is almost 100 years old who knows the island's history. I didn't get a chance to talk with her because she was not available when I was there. I don't know why. She's she apparently. Yeah, she's she's older. So I didn't get a chance. This was in twenty eighteen. I think twenty nineteen. Oh, man. What I would I would do anything to go back to Ogasawara right now. Anything. I would drink this peach juice in one gulp. It would hurt trying to take it down. But I could do it for that. I don't even need to come back.

23:52:00 John Daub: My cousin called Isaac is a huge fan. Thank you, Isaac. Happy birthday. Is that your that's your shirt? Yeah. It's a shout out. Leo's doing well. He's getting big. He's five kilograms, which is the size of a of a dumbbell. Now he's getting harder to carry around. I was superman him. Do you know you can lay him on your forearm and then I can superman him around the apartment. And then I told me that not to have to do that. I think he liked it because he was he was really enjoying himself. He's three months old. Two months old. No. now his birthday is the 14th he's born on march 14th are you running the tokyo marathon i ran the tokyo marathon 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 um i didn't run because i got injured so five times i've run the tokyo marathon five times already the best time is three hours and 12 minutes which was um i was in the best shape of my life after i finished the marathon i i had so much energy afterwards because i trained really well that i did a dance at the end zone or goal finish line i did a dance and i can post that dance on instagram video or discord it's pretty funny i recorded myself doing the dance it was more like a more like this wasn't a running man because i didn't want to run anymore but it was more like a you had you have to see it nobody else was doing it it was like a shuffle

25:37:00 John Daub: did you did you did a dance on the shinkansen platform so don't remind people of that all right it's pretty embarrassing it was it was a shinkansen dance it was like why i was doing this as doing running man you know the running man but if you do this with with both your hands i can't do like this it looks like the shinkansen wheels turning so that was the shinkansen dance shinkansen shuffle that's i think might be trademarked by kumamon though it's a it's a actually it's a gif gif uh animated gif if you if you if you use the on facebook and what is it gliffy if you use the animated gifs just search only in japan or john daub on animated gifs we can thank peso for a lot of those he found the most compromising positions i was in and ended up putting them in gifs thanks a lot peso including when i was going to do this i'm going to do this i'm going to do this instead of being slapped there's one where i'm in an onsen it's embarrassing situations that's he didn't do one where i wrote on my road on my face and things like this is okay he hasn't gotten all of them around all of them um we're having i this is a busted live stream without disclosing anything where would you like to live outside tokyo wait if i tell you where i want to live i would be disclosing it maybe close to another big japanese city i can close where I wouldn't want to live where I want to live I wouldn't mind living in Aomori

27:11:00 John Daub: I like the fact that Aomori has the has the Pacific and the Sea of Japan and the Tsugaru Strait (strait between Honshu and Hokkaido). I always forget that the one between Aomori uh Pacific and the Sea of Japan I like that but it's quite cold I could see myself living I love Hiroshima Prefecture I lived there for two years I could see myself living in Kyushu I would love to live in Miyazaki or Kumamoto or even Nagasaki might be nice but it's kind of far or um Kagoshima Okinawa would be ideal right Okinawa would be nice I could um the food is good the people are friendly it's got like a like a Hawaiian vibe the music's nice I got friends down there sort of yeah we'll see yeah I want my son to be in Okinawan would be cool and it's pretty warm but look I'm half Indian and I like to live in Okinawa I would love to live in Okinawa I would love to live in Okinawa I like spicy foods so you know hot is part of life for me I ruin the food uh that can I makes quite often because I put like chili peppers and spices and everything so she'll make Nikujaga which is like the Japanese cuisine staple and I'll put chili in it she's like like freaking out all right whatever she makes I just put pepper on it or yuzu kosho like she'll say yuzu kosho to me it goes with everything it's yuzu kosho so it is blasphemy I had chili pepper on sushi once all right it's true I don't care I'll eat it I put I think I had a um like that you know what chili pepper some of this um what's it called well let's go to frosty really quickly okay let's go to frosty really quickly all right look at look look at look at this angle don't look down look at me we're going to frosty all right

29:25:00 John Daub: look here don't look at the mess okay where is frosty oh this stuff here all right check it out this is called uh togarashi (shichimi pepper) all right I put this togarashi on everything I just carry it with me in my pocket it gets kind of warm and you put this togarashi on everything in fact they have everything in a tube now this is the uh um that Q which is these mini onions to go on curry rice that's in a tube what else have they got in tubes here those you know those red things that you put on the curry rice the little red pickles they mash that up and put that in a tube too what else do we got in here if you look at old frosty you'll find that they have everything in a tube look at that do you want to see something real really funky see these eggs here these are yuzu tamago that's citrus fruit the chickens eat the citrus fruit and the eggs taste have a citrus taste these these are the egg egg people who came up with it so it's citrus flavored eggs raw you don't add in anything so these eggs taste like citrus I don't know how they did it but it's true all right so just back off man it's frosty keep looking down cherry blossom flavored Kit Kats do you want to see me eat one click the like button this is the final Frontier all right if we get to 500 likes I'll eat a cherry blossom Kit Kat right now I will eat this and tell you what it tastes like if you like right now all right and I have seaweed ice cream all right I'm not eating it I'm just showing it to you like the peach juice this is called this is what happens when the live stream is goes busted just have fun 500 likes yeah it's not gonna happen I need you out my neighbor all right we're 140 likes away this is awful busted stream earlier 359. it's fun right you this you're doing it I'm not I have no control over your likes what you like and don't like is up to you you are all you are in charge

32:26:00 John Daub: yeah I'm not in anyone's shadow man so if that's what you feel then that's your problem that's not mine chickens should eat chili peppers actually sounds really cool do you think do you think the chickens actually like the chili peppers though let's think about this for a second I don't I don't know if they have taste chickens usually will eat chicken food right which is like processed something right like feed I don't think they care about the flavor so I'm not sure if they ate the chili peppers I don't think they would care about it so maybe that would work I don't know chicken and birds can't taste heat that true all right we're still 70 likes away this one here is maple maple flavored Kit Kats and these are super good I had these um these came out a couple of uh about a month ago and then these came out right before the cherry blossoms these are nice though these are really surprising it has the same flavor which is salty because they usually take the cherry blossoms and preserve them in salt so there's a slight saltiness to the cherry blossom taste with um like a floral taste to it it's pretty nice yeah all right let's give it a try I think we'll get I think we're gonna get the 500 likes anyways I'm just can't look at it and not eat it it's rough it smells like cherry blossoms it does have a it depends you know what it really depends on um depends on you they're pink it really depends on you because you know I think it it probably does taste a little chemically I'm not I'm not sure but some people don't mind it and some people do I it definitely doesn't taste like eating a real cherry blossom but what they've done yeah Bobby a that's an actually a really good it's like a salty Rose yeah that's a really good way to um without the it has a more floral floral smell to it than a rose smell to it roses are quite strong um they did a really good job with this one though there's a slight saltiness to it so it hits different areas of the tongue there's a floral taste to it that that um it's a creamy salty creamy slightly salty most more sweet than salty uh floral taste to it it tastes like spring really not sour sweet

36:18:00 John Daub: all right people can I have no problem with people uh comparing me or criticizing me it's okay I don't mind I think the I think other YouTubers might might care about it or or have really thin skin I don't I don't care so it's okay you know what keeps me up at night Mr Jones baby all right diapers smell of poop all right that's what keeps me up at night pinami all right I have I don't care what other YouTubers are doing I don't care what other people are doing I care that what Rio my son is doing and he poops and any he should poop more and he should and he should pee less all right right now that's all I care about so there's your answer there take that take that from father dad will tell you down it was intended to be a joke if Jim I I British sarcasm number one the only way I know you're British is because of the the pound signed but your your profile picture with the glasses looks quite serious I can't it doesn't look like someone who would joke which is maybe that is the joke I I again don't you don't bother Mr Jones he's okay I am a man who sleeps in it who does live streams from a tent in the middle of the night all right I you just remember who you're talking to I've been here half my life I'm confused all right I don't get social references what are my week points is What Am I weak points is that um like a lot of the things the societal things have changed in the United States over the last 20 years and it hasn't sunk into me yet I've always been pretty open and and friendly and accepting person of everybody and everything it doesn't matter to me but like some of the references from friends and Seinfeld and stuff that
