00:00 John Daub: Hey everybody, I'm in Singapore right now, and I just finished the Yuck Foo Spelling Cup 2018. Check it out. Do you see that? That's why I was here in Singapore at the World Resort Tour, and they're waiting for me. I think there's a lot of people. They're waiting for me inside. Oh, are you here for the Only in Japan meetup?
00:26 John Daub: Okay, yeah, you can go in there. Yeah, go inside there. Alright. Oh, I can hear so many people laughing. Okay, this is so cool. I've been to Singapore 12 times. I absolutely love this place. This is Kanae Daub's first time here in Singapore, and I wanted to show her that the people here are really caring and loving and really just awesome people, friendly.
00:56 John Daub: And I did a Facebook event page about a week ago, and I'm going to show you all the people that came. I'm going to turn the camera around. In fact, I'm going to put the wide-angle lens on the other side. Alright, and now we're going to go inside the event hall where I was today and meet everybody. Are you ready? Here we go. Welcome to the Only in Japan Singapore world. Check that out.
01:33 John Daub: That ended really fast. Thank you for the very warm welcome. I appreciate it. Thank you for making your way here. I also have a microphone on, so you can see it. Hi, where are you? We're being live on another channel here. Hello. So I'm going to walk around and if you want, just very quickly, you could say your name or say hello to everybody. We have right now 120 people watching and the numbers are going up pretty fast. So, hello!
02:00 Aaron: Hello. My name is Aaron.
02:06 Roger: Hello, my name is Roger. Nice to see you all.
02:10 Guest: Hi, hit the like button. I love you, Nosh.
02:12 Crowd: Nosh! Nosh! Nosh! Nosh! I love you Nosh! I love you Nosh! Nosh! Nosh has some fans! Remember to hit the like button! Nosh! Nosh! Nosh!
02:22 John Daub: Why did he say hi to Nosh?
02:23 Eugene: Can I have a chance? Hey my name is Eugene and my brother thinks that John is Peter von Gomm Mark 2!
02:34 Crowd: Hello! Hello!
02:38 John Daub: Okay hold on a second I'm gonna put the wide angle lens on the other side. So this is everybody, you can see that everyone is chatting in to say hi.
02:45 Crowd: Hi! Hello world! World welcome to Singapore! Welcome to Singapore! Welcome to Singapore! Hello! Hey! Only in Singapore! Only in Singapore! I said it! It's true! Come visit! Yeah come visit Singapore!
03:06 John Daub: We have some people way back there in the back! Does anybody wanna do any shout outs? Just come on up!
03:15 Guest: Uh not really!
03:18 John Daub: Like I came in here and I said if you want to do anything you want to say just say anything and then people got real quiet after they said welcome to Singapore. I was like really cool! Alright wow so this is the Only in Japan Go channel, we're always live. Right now the people who are watching is starting to increase which is pretty cool. Probably because all of you are watching.
03:37 Crowd: Hi there! Hello! You guys are part of the channel, part of the history, hello!
03:48 John Daub: Oh who's that little guy back there?
03:50 Guest: That's my son Logan.
03:51 Crowd: Oh hey Logan! Say hi! Hi Logan! Oh he's so shy! How are you Logan?
04:02 John Daub: How did you get back here?
04:07 Crowd: Yeah! He makes a way, hello! Hello! Nice to meet you too! Hello! Hey!
04:21 Kevin: I'm Kevin!
04:24 John Daub: Hold on a second! Wait what do you mean next time Kevin? Is Kevin, are you watching? Kevin!
04:31 Crowd: Of course John, but Kevin number two. Kevin's number two? Kevin you're number two, just between us. Kevin's watching, Kevin has a lot of fans here!
04:41 Crowd: Hi! Say hi to Peter for me. Peter! You gotta give a shout out. Hi Peter! Hi Peter! Peter! Peter! Hi Peter! Hi Kevin! Hi Gretchen! Hey there's the Nosh boys back there right? Hey Nosh! Alright!
05:01 John Daub: That's really wonderful. So, we don't have a lot of time, I was doing the MC job here to do what's back here called the Yuck Foo Spelling Cup. I gotta give the microphone to the event, then I'm gonna have to shout out, I don't like shouting. And then we're gonna go outside and maybe you can get a chance to look around, but I don't think that they have a Wi-Fi outside. We're gonna lose it, and if we lose it, we have to use it here.
05:29 John Daub: So, I'm gonna go ahead and... I don't have anything else to say.
05:32 Guest: Like what? What should I do now? Oh, that's a good idea.
05:42 John Daub: We just gotta get out of here and we can go into there. Is that true? Let me confirm with these people. So we have to leave here at 7, but can we go outside in the hall longer? Outside here? How much time do I have? Like 5 minutes?
06:05 John Daub: Okay. Alright, we got 5 minutes. You can take the microphone. I know you wanna get home too. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
06:18 John Daub: So, I wanna say a couple of things. Where's Kanae?
06:24 Crowd: They know where Kanae is. Well, you guys know where Kanae is. Kanae?
06:32 John Daub: Oh, you wanna come over here? We wanna come over here. Come over here.
06:40 Crowd: Everybody loves Nosh. Nosh, thanks for everything that you do, Nosh. Thank you, Nosh. Nosh has a big following.
06:46 John Daub: Alright, Kanae, what do you think of Singapore?
06:48 Kanae Daub: I like food. The city is so beautiful. It's like Tokyo. I feel the same feeling with Tokyo.
07:07 John Daub: Singapore is so convenient. It's so compact. It sort of reminds you of Tokyo. But you know what? Tokyo... I think Tokyo is hotter. Believe it or not. I think Tokyo has this weird hotness. It's just a little bit hotter than Singapore.
07:22 Guest: Maybe because you live there. I guess Tokyo is a lot colder right now. Maybe because I brought all the heat. Although it has been raining here in Singapore.
07:34 John Daub: Tomorrow, Kanae and I are going to be going to the night zoo. Actually, we invited everybody to meet us at 8 o'clock. I don't know how that's going to work out. But it should be a lot of fun. Kanae, do you want to dance for us?
07:46 Kanae Daub: No?
07:47 John Daub: What? No. I don't know. Actually, I might have music. Oh, you have the skirt. She has a skirt on. Oh yeah, she feels kind of on the spot here. Sorry. So, you know what? She's going to dance for you online on another episode. Is that okay? Is that okay? Alright. So, Kanae will dance for us on another episode.
08:17 John Daub: Yeah, it is tough. You know what? The internet knows. You can't put a lady on the spot like that because that puts her in a tough situation.
08:24 Guest: I'll dance for you.
08:26 John Daub: I was joking. I was joking. If I dance for you, that's the best way to get everybody out of here real fast. I want to thank everybody for coming. I have to end this live stream, but what I'm going to do is what I do for the meetup is go outside and we're going to take some pictures. And I want to talk about Japan and then hear some of your stories. It's a lot of people here, so it's going to be hard to – we'll make sure we take a picture with each and every one of the people who want to get a photo with us.
09:03 John Daub: But this is really cool. The first meetup I ever did was in Kuala Lumpur, and then I did one in New York City, and then I did a couple in Tokyo, and now I did one in Singapore. So, it's kind of really nice to come here. And I didn't expect the turnout to be as big as it is. But it's pretty big.
09:22 John Daub: I want to ask you guys, how many people here have been to Tokyo, have been to Japan before? Raise your hands. How many people are lying right now? No, no, no. How many people want to return to Tokyo? How many people want to return to Japan? Where do you want to go? Shout out the destination where you want to go. Three, two, one. I heard. All right.
09:56 John Daub: The government of Japan. To the government of Japan, I think I can make a video on Hokkaido for some of these people because I just heard they want Hokkaido. So, you know, help me make a really good video for everybody in Singapore to go to Hokkaido. Because Hokkaido has snow. Do you have snow here? No. I think that's why we should promote Hokkaido snow and butter sandwiches and Abashiri prison. You guys don't want to go to Abashiri prison, maybe not. It's a beautiful place. Hokkaido is an awesome place. I've been there many times. I like to live there. But, yeah, Japan government, hear me, hear me speak, hear me now and believe me later. Hokkaido is popular here. I think it's going to do really well.
10:41 John Daub: I want to thank each and every one of you. We're going to have to go outside and continue this. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to put the camera here. And if you would meet me in the hall and then we're going to walk out together so you can walk past the camera and say hi to the world. That'd be pretty cool because we don't have the Wi-Fi. All right. So see you outside.
11:01 Crowd: Hello, Will. All right. Keep on going, everybody. Bye bye. Mine is Marty. I got you. Hope you have fun. [inaudible]. Bye everyone. Marty, are you watching this? Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Have a good day. Bye. Bye. Bye. You round. Bye. Is Nosh or HelloHi in there? Nosh is somewhere. Gordon Flynn. What's up? Hi. Hi.
11:38 John Daub: So you know all the people who are chatting all the time. I chat with them.
11:41 Crowd: All right. Me as well. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. I hope this isn't in 360P. John rocks. I know. Japan is awesome.
11:57 John Daub: What's your name?
11:58 Sarah: Sarah.
12:03 John Daub: Nice to meet you. Hi. Thanks for coming. Thank you.
12:07 Crowd: It's her actual birthday today. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Happy birthday. Long time no see. Hey. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello. Hello.
12:22 John Daub: It's just us. Hi. Hi. Hi people. Do you have anything to say? What's the name that you go by when you're on here?
12:29 Nathaniel Wong: Daniel Wong. Nathaniel Wong.
12:32 John Daub: Nice to meet you, Daniel. Not Daniel. Not Daniel. Ah, Nathaniel. Now I know who you are because you're always in here in the chats. Yeah, always. Nathaniel, it's nice to meet you in person. Nice to meet you too. Thank you for coming. You brought something?
12:47 Nathaniel Wong: Yeah, I brought a few things.
12:48 John Daub: You brought a couple of things. We're going to meet everybody outside. Yeah. Show us really quickly, Nathaniel.
12:53 Nathaniel Wong: All right. I brought Chinese chicken rice potato chips. It's everything's first in YouTube app. Oh, yeah. That's the chicken rice. And I heard John's Laksa yesterday, so. That's true.
13:03 John Daub: Oh my gosh, I love Laksa. So this was the first thing I actually wanted to buy for everyone. I felt like I can show you this. Try it in natto.
13:11 Nathaniel Wong: Oh, whoa, whoa. You can keep that. Actually, I love natto, but I'm just reacting like I was the first. Oh, it's natto. Oh. It's okay. I'll shove it in your pocket. No. Okay.
13:27 John Daub: I've never seen this before! I don't think they have this in Japan. I love the cut noodles for it. Wow! So if you want to do a live stream for midnight, you got it. We got a midnight snack right there. We're gonna do a midnight snack Singapore run in Tokyo. This is gonna make some people... Awesome! Alright, thank you so much for that Nathaniel.
13:51 Nathaniel Wong: You're welcome. I do want to come.
13:55 John Daub: Oh really? Yeah. You wanna shout out to your girlfriend?
13:57 Nathaniel Wong: Hey, Jelame. I love you so much. I'm gonna marry you one day.
14:03 John Daub: That's what I said to Kanae. She said yes. It'll work. Internet chat out always works. Alright everybody, I'm gonna leave. I wanna thank everybody for watching this. I love Singapore. It's such an amazing welcome.
14:16 John Daub: And when I finished this event, I finished it and everybody went out to the buses. And at this door right here... This is part of the history. I just saw this crowd of people and I'm like, no. They can't be here for only Japan meetup. They were. This is amazing. And I'm so happy for the community that we've built. All of you that are watching around the world are part of that as well. And I'm really happy to share with you these experiences that I have here and have there in Japan. And also to bring you around the world and be live like this. This is so cool to be in Singapore. Like in Singapore, like on the other side of the world for a lot of people who are watching this. And yet, be able to show you this live. So I wanna thank YouTube as well for making this possible. Although they could probably work on that app a little bit.
15:04 John Daub: But I'll be at the YouTube summit in Korea from August 21st to 24th to meet some other YouTubers. It's gonna be a really cool event. I'm looking forward to that. Hi to everybody here. We see some people chatting in. I wanna thank you for watching this. And if you're watching on the playback, please leave a comment below and tell us what you think of Singapore. I gotta go. They're waiting outside the event hall, you can see. Can I just keep holding on the fort? But it's not gonna last forever.
15:25 John Daub: So the last 20 seconds we're gonna give to the people of Singapore. All the people here. Thank you for coming. He still loves you, Nosh. Shout out to Nosh. Thanks for watching everybody. Thanks for watching around the world. I'll see you later. Goodbye world.
